The Thatcher Opera House (Logan, Utah) was built by George W. Thatcher, who had managed the Salt Lake Theater Company. The 800-seat theater opened in September 1890, occupying the top two floors of a new bank building. The theater was used for traveling operas, concerts, plays, vaudeville shows, movies, boxing, and other activities until April 17, 1912, when it was destroyed by a fire which started in an adjacent store.
